Oyo COVID-19 Palliatives: Gov. Seyi Makinde Flag Off Distribution

Today, Governor Seyi Makinde flagged off the distribution of pallatives to 90,000 households identified as the poorest of the poor to cushion the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor kickstarted the distribution in Igboora, Ibarapa North Local Government Area.

He made it known that the State Government decided to distribute palliatives to assist people whose means of livelihood have been badly affected by the partial shutdown of activities in the State.

He added that the Government will embark on the distribution of another set of pallatives to 30,000 vulnerable persons in the society apart from the distribution of the palliatives rolled out to target 90,000 households.

He also maintained that farmers in the State will be given special palliatives of seedlings and pesticides as they claimed to have access to food items.

The Governor also visited the Primary Health Care Centres in Idere and Igboora which have been marked for renovation to serve as Isolation centres.
