05 Mar Governor Makinde Approves Conversion of Civil Servants, SUBEB and PTA Teachers
The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has approved that teachers employed by SUBEB but working for TESCOM and are willing to convert to TESCOM staff should be permitted.
This revelation was made, on Wednesday, by the chairman, Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Pastor Akin Alamu, while briefing newsmen on the state of the teachers’ recruitment in the State.
Pastor Akin added that the Governor has also okayed the conversion of civil servants who have acquired additional qualifications and are willing to convert to teaching.
He noted that PTA teachers will also be considered in the ongoing recruitment.
The TESCOM boss disclosed that some zones have completed the computerization of the data of the applicants while others will complete theirs on or before this week Friday.
He added that the TESCOM headquarters, located at Secretariat, Ibadan, had received 64 thousand applications and all the applicants’ data have been computerized.
Pastor Akin, who leave no stone unturned, debunked reports flying round that any form not obtained at the TESCOM offices, would be stamped out. The TESCOM boss maintained that both the forms collected at the TESCOM offices across the State and those printed online, would be given equal attention.
He, however, hinted that the computer-based test exercise to screen the applicants will come up before the end of this month. And that TESCOM would the transparent in the examination process.
