COLLABORATION WITH IMPACT BUSINESS RADIO:
- The Management team of the Agency was ably led by the secretary, Mr Akin Makinde (JP) held a meeting with the management of Impact Business Radio (92.5 FM) Akobo, Ibadan on Tuesday 15th March, 2016 where issues bordering on partnership and collaboration was discussed.
- UNICELF “B” Field Office, the United Nations Agency sent some Educational relief materials to the State Government on Wednesday, 16th March, 2016. The materials worth about N8 million naira is Summarised as stated hereunder.

DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF MATERIALS
- Relief materials were distributed to the victims of fire and rainstorm disasters in Adegbayi, Wakajaye, Olorisaoko, Ojerinde Jiboye, Omi-Adio, Adekile, Academy Owode Areas and Kuola Olugbode in Ibadan Metropolis on 24th March, 2016 to cushioning the effect of disaster and serve as palliative to the victims.
COURTESY/FAMILIARIZATION VISIT OF NEMA OFFICIALS:
- The New South-West Zonal coordinator for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Sulaiman Yakubu led his team on a familiarization visit to Oyo State Emergency Management Agency (OYSEMA). In a meeting held with the Deputy Governor and OYSEMA officials on Thursday 31st March, 2016 he advised the Agency to be more proactive in its approach rather than concentrating on giving relief materials to victims of disaster.
Distribution of Relief Materials
Relief materials were distributed to the victims of fire disaster that occurred at the residence of Pa Oyebamiji Zacchaeus House in Akobo, Lagelu Local Government Area on 18th April, 2016 to cushioning the effect of the disaster and serve as palliative to the victims.
Collaboration/Partnership With Donor Agencies
The Agency wrote letters of request for partnership in Disaster Management to some International Donor Agencies and Corporate Organisations in the State in the month of May 2016.
Visit to Borehole Installations
The Secretary and officials of the Agency carried-out inspection in the month of May , 2016 on all the Ten (10) borehole projects being constructed across the State by Presidential Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation to ascertain whether or not the project has been executed to specification
Monitoring & Evaluation
Officials of the Agency, led by the Secretary Mr Akin Makinde, paid an unscheduled visit to the Internally Displaced Persons Camp site at Akanran, Ona Ara Local Government on Tuesday 10th and Monday 16th May, 2016. This was to ascertain the level of work on site and also to witness the handing over ceremony of construction of the newly awarded perimeter fencing, gate house, Administrative Block and Kitchen respectively.
- OYSEMA in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency carried out flood sensitization campaign rally in flood prone Communities in Agbowo, Ibadan, on 12th August 2016. This was done due to year 2016 NIMET Seasonal Rainfall Prediction (SPR) indicating the possibility of flooding due to high intensity rainfall at the peak especially in places that are naturally prone to flooding in the State. The team that participated in the sensitization included officials of the Environmental Health of Ibadan North Local Government, National Orientation Agency, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NCDC) and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
- The Secretary (OYSEMA) and the Senior Special Assistant (Security) and attended a 3 – day State Outreach for Counter Terrorism Crisis Response Doctrine Development organized by the office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Abuja. The programme was held between 16th and 18th August, 2016 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
- Relief materials worth several millions of naira were distributed to victims of fire disaster that occurred at Sango Iso-Pako, Sango, Ibadan on Friday and Sunday 25th and 27th December, 2015, respectively. The distribution ceremony which took place at the market on 2nd September, 2016 to cushion the effect of damages done to the victims was presided over by His Honour, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Ishmael Olalekan Alli. In attendance were the Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Caretaker Chairman, Ibadan North Local Government, Officials of OYSEMA, NEMA and Ibadan North Local Government.
- Officials of this Agency and other emergency responders were mobilized to a collapsed building at No. 6, Olanipekun Street, Ososami, Oke-Ado, Ibadan on 18th September 2016. The decision to demolish structure was taken having assessed same and observed to pose danger to lives and properties of the occupants and residents of the community by building experts. The controlled demolition exercise was witness by the Secretary to the State Government; Alhaji Olalekan Alli who led other State Government functionaries to the scene. The demolition exercise came to an end at about 9:30pm. The quick intervention of the State Government was a proactive measure towards prevention of lives and properties of citizenry of the State. This step, as, however, been lauded by the Tenants/Landlord Association of the Community.
Distribution of Education/ Instructional Materials
Approval of UNICEF on the propose distribution of Education Instructional Materials donated to the State by the donor Agency was received in October, 2016. The conditions attached to the approval have however, been processed for consideration and approval of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State.
